Independence weekend

Well, I am sad to say that we didn't get very many pictures and we didn't do nearly as much as we did last year. Dan worked a double shift Saturday and Monday due to the fact that everyone was asking off for those days and he's trying to get in as many hours as possible before we head down to the family reunion and the baby.
Saturday night (July 3rd) Hannah and I went and joined Dan at the movie theater to watch the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire on top of the theaters roof. It was very enjoyable to get to spend some time with Dan and to see Hannah's reaction. She kept saying "More sparklies." And was sad when the show was over.

Sunday (July 4th) was a busy day with two baby blessings. We attended one of Dan's friends blessing his first baby and then we were able to attend the blessing of Eva Campbell. And then were able to enjoy some delicious food over at the Campbell's. Thank you for inviting us! It was a very enjoyable Sunday. We even woke Hannah up after it had gotten dark to watch some fireworks and to let her hold some sparklers we had from the previous year. We also watched some fireworks that our next door neighbor had.

Monday (July 5th) we had planned to get up at 5:30 am and go see the hot air balloons but went to bed late and with Dan working a double shift knew it would be difficult to do so without a nap. Instead we got up at 8:30 am and headed over to watch as much of the parade as we could catch before Dan had to be at work at 11:15 am. We were able to see more than half and grabbed some breakfast to eat together before Dan had to go to work. Dan took and an hour lunch break so we could stop in at the Arapaho house where Dan's uncle hosts a BBQ every year. I didn't think we were going to be there very long so I didn't bother to bring a swim suit for Hannah. I soon regretted it because she was dieing to get it. Julie was nice enough to let us use on of their swimsuits. We(Hannah and I) then came home and were preparing to go to another BBQ (of some friends from the ward) when Hannah became sick and we ended up just staying in. I really didn't mind because it had been a long day and I was missing Dan. Overall it was a very tame but enjoyable holiday.

This is Hannah and Kody(our next door neighbors little boy) he always calls her "My Hannah." And he has his arm around her in this picture. So cute.

These were all taken at the parade while we were waiting for it to start.

And as a last note this last week we went to the Veterans Pool (I didn't get any pictures because cameras are not allowed) which has a great waterworks area for young children AND slides! We were able to take Hannah down the slides with us and she LOVED the waterworks and swimming. We bought her a swimsuit that has the flotation boards built into the swimsuit and were trying to help her learn to swim. She was loving every minute of it and was not afraid one bit (for better or for worse :) She loves the water.

Another thing is that she went to nursery all on her own today! After Sacrament meeting we noticed she had disappeared and found her headed to nursery. We watched her go in with out a backwards glance. And when they brought her to us to change a wet diaper (I still haven't had the courage to keep her in underwear when we're out and about even though potty training is going great! She pretty much tells us when she has to go these days with the occasional accident) she shut the door on Dan when he was dropping her back off! It made us laugh a little. And then when we went to pick her up from nursery she said "I miss you mommy" when I told her I had missed her. And then she went on to tell me what she had done in nursery. She mentioned the puzzles, some ducks and cars she had played with, and could not stop going on about the bubbles that they do at the end. It was so much fun to see her excited and to hear about her day from her own mouth! It made our day :) But anyways, we hope you are all doing well!!!!
