Recent Projects

Dan's big project for the summer!  Our garden.  We planted the garden a little late but it is growing great!  Dan has really been enjoying working in the garden after work and seeing the plants grow.

We planted sunflowers.

Corn.

Our pumpkins.  Carving and sugar pie pumpkins.

1st row from the left sunflowers. 2nd: Corn. 3rd: carrots and marigolds. 4th: peppers, basil, tomatoes and marigolds. 5th: 2 different kinds of tomatoes.

Beef steak tomatoes.  We have a total of 19 so far that are growing.  Our roma tomatoes have not flowered yet.  The beef steak plants we actually got as seedlings from our neighbors and friends, the McGrady's.

We have two smaller flower bed by our windows in the back yard.  The first row closest to the house, is spinach and a cantaloupe (the cantaloupe came from our compost!). 2nd: Roma tomatoes. 3rd: cilantro.

The cantaloupe.

Cilantro.  I was able to use some of this in come white chicken chili this last week.  SOOO yummy!

Lemon mint and mint.  This is growing in the other flower bed and came with house :)
The spinach.  This is after we've been picking bag fulls.
Our first batch of harvested spinach.
One of my recent projects.  A nursing apron.

The back of the finished apron.

I'm in love with this fabric.  I want to make some curtains out of the same fabric after I paint the dining room.

My other project.  A diaper bag!  Here's the front.

The back of the diaper bag.

It has a zipper that open completely.  This was my first time sewing with this kind of zipper.

The inside.
