Dear Friends and Family,
We’ve had another busy year!
We’ve continued to stay busy working on home improvements, the biggest
of which has been our kitchen. We put in
new flooring, refinished the cabinets, brought the bar down to counter height,
installed new granite countertops, and are finishing with a subway tile
backsplash and new light fixtures. The
kitchen has been transformed and we love it more and more with each passing
day! The next few months will have us
installing new wood flooring and carpet throughout the rest of the home.
Dan ran a half marathon in April on the coast, and then a
full marathon in October. He was
extremely happy to have finally achieved his goal of running a marathon! Dan is
still currently an AVP at Credit Suisse, and manages a small team. He continues to serve as the 2nd
counselor in the Elder’s Quorum Presidency for our local church. He has spent the better half of the year
preparing to the take the GMAT and applying to MBA programs. He has applied to BYU, UNC, Duke, and NC
State. Hopefully, by the time you
receive this letter, we will know where he will be going to school in the
fall.
Katy returned back to school this May. She is working towards to her Bachelors of
Science in Nursing, eventually entering a graduate program to become a
Midwife. Katy is also expecting our
second little boy, who will be due in March of 2017. She has been very sick this pregnancy and is
thankful for the relief she has finally felt the last month. She also serves in Young Women’s at church
and teaches the Youth every Sunday. Life
has been very full!
Hannah turned 8 years old this year and was baptized a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She started 2nd
grade this year. Her favorite subjects
are Art and Math. She is a great big sister who is always seeking ways she can
help her mom and dad.
Bella turned 6 years old and started 1st
grade. Bella’s favorite subjects are
Math and Reading. Bella is our avid reader.
She continues to grow and mature.
She is coming into her own and loves to help out in the kitchen.
Charlie turned 4 this year!
He is attending a full day preschool at the elementary school that the
girls attend. He may be small for his
age but he is full of personality, and super cute to boot! Charlie loves to build with blocks and
Legos. His teacher has mentioned how
much all the kids in his class love him!
He has so many friends and has come out of his shell the last few
months.
Faith is 2 years old this year! She is the little darling of the family and
doted upon by all. She has grown so much
this last year, and continues to amaze us with her determined but loving
nature. She is potty-trained! She was our easiest and quickest yet. She is looking forward to seeing her baby
brother, who she loves to call, “MY baby brother!” She talks up a storm and is full of
enthusiasm.
We hope this year has been full of love and laughter for you all! We love you! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Dan, Katy, Hannah, Bella, Charlie, Faith and Baby Boy #2
