One Year Later

I thought it would be kind of fun to show pictures of our house every year as it changes.  This is the post from last year:

I'll only post pictures of the rooms that have had big changes.  A few pictures I haven't gotten around to taking are the master, Charlie's room and the latest on the dining room.  The dining room will be a separate post.  Here's the updated photos:

Dan's updated office. He's gotten a lot of use out of this room the last month with the weather.

Dining room. I can't wait to show you the final product.  The painting and wainscoting look great!  There is no dining hutch and table yet but I hope someday to put this room to a little more use!

I think this has been the biggest change in the last year!  We actually have furniture now!  I have a vision for what I would like this room to be.........we'll start by painting in the next few months.

Our upstairs bonus room.  We did a lot of rearranging.

Now when you come up the stairs you see the couch and the TV armoire.

The space behind the couch is my new crafting space!  It use to be where we  now call Charlie's room.

The girls both upgraded!

Hannah is still pretty excited about the change.  And Bella is loving her 'new' big girl bed.

Kitchen Nook.

The Sister who us gave the table also gave us the curtains and painting.  She was so wonderful to do that for us.

Can you see out into our back yard and the stained fence we now have?

I hope you enjoyed seeing how things have changed.  I always love things like that.  I am greatly looking forward to what changes this next year will bring to our home :)

December 2012 Part 1

The 1st Saturday in December we installed a flower box around our mailbox.  First Dan leveled the ground with the stones and the mixed some cement and placed 3 layers of stones together.  We then filled the box with soil, planted the pansies and then laid a small of amount of black mulch on top.   We were both very pleased with how it turned out. Here's some pictures:

Dan placing the cement.

Flower box in place.

Our two good helpers.  Bella was inside taking a nap.

Love that tongue.  He sticks it out when he's happy.

Sorry had to add another picture of our little guy.

Flowers are planted!

All finished!

Up close.
The second week of December Hannah had a dance recital at the community center and the next day (Saturday) she performed at a local nursing home as well.  It was super fun and cute!  All the kids were still pretty young and didn't know what was going on half the time. :)  But Hannah does seem to be enjoying it.  Dan signed her up for soccer in the Spring, we'll see how that goes!  I took several videos but due to the size I had to post them on youtube.  If you would like to see Hannah's Happy Elf Dance go here:

Here's a picture of her in her costume (it was pretty big on her):

Bella wanted to be a part of things.  I'm hoping to be able to put her in dance class this coming fall.

Thanksgiving this year was at Vaughn (Dan's older brother) and Beccas' house. Dan's aunt, Victoria stayed with us for a week. At the dinner, some friends were also invited.  I think the total came out to be 11adults and 13 kids!  It was a blast and very enjoyable.  Everyone brought wonderful food and good company.  Dan took his block leave the next week and finished the gate on our fence, making the fence complete!  We then stained the fence and now all that is left is to trim the top of the fence.  The stain was cedar and looks very nice. He also was able to fix our fridge which stopped working on Thanksgiving!
I spent the week after Thanksgiving watching a little boy who was 15 months for 5 days.  It was nice to make a little extra money but it was stressful having four little kids 4 years and under!  The little boy also had a pretty hard time because of separation anxiety but things got better everyday.  It was such a blessing to have Dan at home to help during the first 4 days.
Then the weekend after we celebrated our nephew, Josh turning 9! And were able to enjoy another delicious turkey dinner, thanks to Dan's Aunt bringing everyone turkeys down at Thanksgiving time. It was a wonderful holiday with only a few stresses! I am so sorry I do not having any pictures for this time frame!
